Christmas Cocktails & Drinks in Newcastle 2022

Fancy getting in the festive spirit with some Christmas themed drinks? You could combine this with a trip to the Christmas markets or a day of shopping for a full day out! I have included a map at the bottom of this post with all bar locations.

I recently had a fab day around Newcastle trying many festive drinks, here's where we visited!

The Botanist

The first place we visited was The Botanist, can't really go wrong here, nice cocktails and a stunning interior. The Botanist has a Christmas cocktail menu with 8 drinks, including creamy cocktails and spritzers, I've included a picture below.

I went for the Grinch Grog (£8.50) which was elderflower liquer, apple cider reduction, glitter and bubbles. This was my favourite drink of the day, it went down far too easy! It was so pretty as well, looked like Christmas in a glass!

My friend ordered the Snow Goose which she enjoyed, but said this was very strong!

Flore Cafe 

Next we headed off to Flore Cafe for some food, an insta hotspot with flower walls that specialises in brunch.

They do all sorts of specialty hot drinks, and are running a Christmas menu with 5 different options, vegan options are also available. On this occasion I ordered a bounty hot chocolate and my friend ordered the iced peppermint mocha. Even though its the least popular celebration, I have to say I really enjoyed the flavour of this hot chocolate, it was rich and creamy and the coconut was a welcome addition.

We also ordered sandwiches which were lovely and very filling!

All Bar One

Next up is All Bar One on Grey Street which was already decorated beautifully for Christmas when we visited, with lights and trees everywhere. For Christmas they are running a collab with hotel chocolat and offering velvetised cream cocktails. I ordered the tiramasu midnight cocktail and have to say this was absolutely delicious, if you love creamy cocktails you must get here!

It's worth noting All Bar One also runs £6 on classic cocktails Sunday to Wednesday so my friend had a lovely French martini for £6 which I thought was pretty good!

The Hustle 

The Hustle, just along from the gate, has a pretty good selection of cocktails. They also have a happy hour that covers their Christmas cocktails, if you're looking for drinks on a budget then it's 2 for £12 5 - 9pm!

Here we ordered the candy cane martini and the winter Berry cooler (oj spiced rum, chambord, cranberry, vanilla, Gingerbread, lime and raspberries). This was so refreshing and it was a nice change to have some non creamy cocktails.

Lazy Bear Tipi 

Finally to get in the Christmas spirit, we had to plan a visit to the new tipi, we are lazy bear, located in front of Central Station. I enjoyed a lovely glass of mulled wine by the fire, and thought this was reasonable at £5! They have a fully stocked bar here, and also offer sweet treats and pies to eat.

I visited these bars on the 21st November so some bars had not yet released their Christmas drinks menu. Keep an eye out for WC and Grey Owl's festive drinks when they are released in December as they always do absolutely lovely cocktails! WC A little look at what to expect from WC Newcastle.....
