Today we have a guest post from Anna Richardson who shares their visit to Fenwick's new Roof Thirty Nine restaurant in August 2021. Over to Anna........
The seating affords views over Newcastle city rooftops. We visited at 11am and breakfast is served until 12noon.
The main menu is served after 12noon which offers small plates and snacks and seasonal mains from the charcoal ‘Josper ’oven.
Vegan and Vegetarian options available and dietary requirements can be catered for, just inform your waiter.
Staff were family friendly, we were offered high chairs for my baby twin girls and the host established a friendly rapport with our 9 year old son. A children’s menu available.

We all know the unpredictability of the Great British weather, and have grown used to dining out now after months of ‘covid safe’ outdoor socialising. However there is no need to worry as Roof Thirty Nine has retractable awnings (in the event of rain), there are also outdoor heaters and I spotted blankets too for cosiness. I am informed that they will trade in ‘all but the most severe weather’.
The cocktail menu looks wonderful and boasts a bespoke range of cocktails created by Hepple Spirits’ Nick Strangeway with home-grown botanicals.
My next visit will most definitely be with my girlfriends for light lunch or evening meal from the charcoal fired menu and cocktails! Opening times Mon – Wed 10am – 6pm (last admission) Thurs- Sat 10am – 9pm Sun – 11am – 5pm
Walk ins welcome (if available) or you can book online here.
